It's official. The wedding is next month and I tried on everything for the first time yesterday. The jewelry, the shoes, oh the pink shoes, the veil from Occansey Designs, everything was perfect. I still have about 6 weeks to go so it's on at the gym! Because the dress has a corset back, I can still lose some more weight and not compromise the fit of the dress.
In other good news, Mike's cousin Jr. opened his eyes the other day. =) He now knows who's around him; before he was in a medically induced coma and on a respirator. He still needs the respirator because his heart isn't strong enough yet but we'll keep praying that he gets there.
I'm jumping back and forth here, but we also finally found a dress for my mom. Finally! She has an ivory 3 piece suit with gold embellishments on it. Very regal and classy. This weekend we're going to check out a dark brown suit for my father. Pops picked out a spiffy dark gray suit with white shirt and coral colored tie and hanky on Sunday at the men's store. The guys suits also came in and Mike tried his on with his ivory shirt. Looks rather good in it too if I must say so myself. The groomsman's shirts and brown.
Everything is coming together nicely. =)

I love eBay!
I have turned into a serious eBay junkie! I found these place card holders doing a google search yesterday. The price was about $1.60 per place card holder with the place cards, just like the pic.
I was totally prepared to pay that because from the very beginning I knew I wanted palm tree place card holders although the original ones I wanted seemed to be discontinued and are nowhere near as cute as these. Here's a pic of the old ones:
So something said to check out eBay. What do I find? The above place card holders ready for me to bid on! I put in my max bid and found out I won them tonight. I got them for $0.63 a piece! I love a deal. I'm going to place them in trays of sand (maybe, maybe not) or just put them on a sand covered table. They may also double as favors, since they can be used later to hold a pic or whatever the owner decides.
My next eBay deal was this beautiful cake server set for $11.99: I'm going to take it to Things Remembered and have our names and wedding date engraved on the knife and probably "Our Wedding Day" engraved on the server.
In other news, my veil arrived today from Occansey Designs. Gorgeous! I can't wait to try it on with my dress and for $31 bucks you can't beat the price. I'll show pics later with the dress. I'm sorry but you gotta wait. =)

Updates....
2 months and 9 days to go! Whoo hoo!
Time is flying. Well, the bridal salon called me today to schedule my first fitting. Yay! I go in Jan. 5. This means that I need to have all my stuff together (veil, shoes, jewelry, etc.) to try on everything at once. I'm worried my jewelry may not work, but I'll see soon enough.
Right now, I'm working on finding a stylist for the bridal party. Worse case scenario, I'll pay my beautician, who's a guest, to do their hair. She's doing my hair as a gift and even if I had to pay her I would; she's been doing my hair since I was 14 years old! My DOC is working on getting me prices now so I'll know something by early next week.
Lastly, I think our rehearsal dinner location is going to change. As bad as I want to have it at Bahama Breeze, they don't have seating to have us all at the same table. Basically, we would be seated in the same vicinity, but at different tables. Not cool. And to get a private area, is at least $1000 that we're not willing to spend. So, my DOC mentioned a few places: Houlihans is one. More pricier menu but totally private. The other option is Bucca di Peppa. Italian restaurant in the Florida Mall that serves food family style. Cheaper option and semi-private. I'm going to call them tomorrow to get more details and then decide something so we can reserve a place asap.
Oh, one more thing. My girl Robyn took some fab B-pics recently. I am so interested in doing this but because I'm in NJ and my photographer is in FL, I'm limited to only being able to do them the week before my wedding. I actually emailed her about doing a Feb session because there are other girls who are interested as well. I hope she has some availability before my wedding date. I'm waiting to hear from her so we can do this!
That's it for now. Stay tuned....

Dresses....all of them!
Whew, it's been a few days since I last posted. Well, I took Wendy to the bridal salon and she tried on the dress Missy ordered. The top is a little snug but she can fit the bottom. So the top just needs to be taken out a little. We're good there, the only suggestion I had to make to Wendy was that she order her own dress because of the cost of her having to take the top out seems to cost more than just ordering her own dress in the right size. Needless to say, Wendy is non-conflict so she already decided to keep Missy's dress AND give her $50 on the deposit. WHAT!? It's not my business, but when you drop out of a wedding after you paid your deposit and you know there aren't any refunds, you lose your money, that simple. Plus she has to pay to alter the top, so I would've offered her $30 at most, and if that, to offset the cost. Let's face it: she wouldn't be getting a thing if it weren't for Wendy.
On to my dress, I go to the salon to check it out. It's gorgeous, the right color, but hopefully the right size. I think about trying it on until Debbie (owner) says I must pay the balance right then and there to try it on. Wow. I wasn't prepared for that. I ask her why is that? She says we can consider it the first fitting. OK. How? She goes on to say some salons give you 30 days to pay the balance; basically telling me she's lenient compared to few. I beg to differ. I leave it alone because at the time I'm thinking no biggie. Until I speak to my girlfriend who was married a year ago and used Arlenes also. She told me she tried on her dress numerous times before the actual fitting. She's the go-off type, so seriously, she's going off now after I tell her what Debbie says. And she referred me there. So, I'm going to call and ask them what happens if I try my dress on in Jan, or even Dec. for fittings and it doesn't fit, then what? I have no doubts it'll fit but still, you know what I mean.
I think Debbie needs to take a chill pill, seriously. The economy is not doing well now so the last thing you want to do is lose business behind some stupid stuff, and it could happen.

My dress is in.....and early!
I remember when I started to panic a little that I hadn't ordered my dress yet as I approached the middle of July. Everyone said Maggie dresses take between 6 and 8 months to arrive, on average. Well, I got the call today, mine is here and it took 4 months! I'm excited it's here but I don't want to put it on yet. I've actually lost a little weight since I ordered it but I still don't want to put it on yet. Maybe I'll go by the salon to look at it, since I'll be there tomorrow anyway with one of my bridesmaids. Eh, I don't know. I don't want to start the fittings until January but maybe I should try it on just to make sure it fits. We'll see.
